CERBERUS’ coordinator Sergi Abadal, associate professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya-Barcelona Tech (UPC), has received the Matilde Ucelay National Research Award 2025, in the field of engineering and architecture. This award recognises the merit of Spanish researchers under the age of 40 and their outstanding achievements in the early stages of their careers.
The award was granted in recognition of Sergi’s significant advances in massively parallel computer architectures and in the development of efficient next-generation interconnects.
Alongside other honourees, Sergi was recognized in a ceremony in May 2026 presided by the King of Spain and Spanish Minister of Science, Diana Morant.
